Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was first arrested in 2015, charged with offences of treasonable felony, unlawful possession of arms, and illegal importation of broadcast equipment, at a Federal High Court in Abuja. Unable to convict him of any of the aforementioned crimes, Kanu was granted bail in April 2017 on medical grounds.

As though the 18 MONTHS in jail and the resultant health deterioration weren't enough, the marauding Nigerian Soldiers raided his country home in Afara Ukwu, Umuahia, in September 2017. That left 28 unarmed innocent young men dead, and several others wounded. The prime target, Kanu, however, in some miraculous way, survived the assault ... though not without life-threatening injuries. After 14 months of incommunicado ...a period believed to have been spent on recuperation, Kanu made a public appearance in the Western Wall of Jerusalem.

In April 1, 2019, Kanu filed an application through his lawyer, Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor,  urging the court to restore his bail on the ground that the court will guarantee his safety when he comes back to the country to continue his trial. The trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako, whose son and husband are at the mercy of Nigerian government, however turned this request down, adding that the only way she could guarantee Kanu’s safety is to keep him in PRISON.

On June 18, 2021, Citizen Nnamdi Kanu was abducted in Nairobi, Kenya. He was tortured and detained in a private facility for 8 DAYS before his extraordinary rendition to Nigeria.

Citizen Kanu took his case to the appeal court on October 13, 2022. The appeal court cleared him of all charges filed by the federal government, yet he was held back ... illegally. In December 2023, grossly influenced by the federal government, the supreme court upturned the judgement.

From the date of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu's extraordinary rendition to Nigeria, Kanu has spent THREE YEARS in jail yet his trial is yet to begin. One therefore can't help but wonder if the illegal imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu without conviction is a  government premeditated action.
