EBONYI— There was pandemonium in Ishiagu, a town located at Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State over the weekend as 30 armed Fulani herdsmen terrorists invaded the community in an unsuccessful attack.

According to a verified report from The Biafra Times correspondent, the rampaging herdsmen numbering over 30 reportedly attempted to carry out an arson in the community but failed hence eight of them were apprehended by the community youths after a woman raised alarm.

A member of the community who pleaded anonymity in an interactive session with our correspondent said, "there was an averted attack on the village of Amaeze Ishiagu in Ivo LGA. The Fulani Jihadist killers laid siege at midnight as the villagers were still asleep".

"The village would have been soaked with the flow of another innocent blood if not by the Grace of God who woke a woman up from sleep to urinate," the source continued.

"When she noticed some strange movement in the environment, she quickly ran inside and placed a distress call to her husband who had travelled.

"The husband quickly placed a phone call to the youths of the village who swooped on the herdsmen which lead to the apprehension of 8 of the terrorists while 30 others quickly ran into bush," the source stated.

It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen terrorists who came for the failed operation were armed with sophisticated weapons, including machetes, fuels, guns and a poisoned arrow.

The Ishiagu Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr. Urom who confirmed the attempted attack, stated that the arrested culprits have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, of the Police Headquarters in Abakaliki for further investigations.

"This goes a long way to tell you that the spate of killings going on in the country is no longer an issue of mere communal clashes with herdsmen but a systematic approach to radical islamization of Biafra land," says another source.
