THE WORLD MUST ACKNOWLEDGE BIAFRA SOVEREIGNTY AND SUPPORT BIAFREXIT

BIAFRA:
THE WORLD MUST ACKNOWLEDGE BIAFRA'S SOVEREIGNTY AND SUPPORT BIAFREXIT

21st July 2016

Slavery is a condition in which one’s rights are denied or a state where one does not have the liberty to favourably determine his choice in matters bothering around his wellbeing. Slavery is the most dangerous condition that a man can find himself, because, under slavery, life is miserable. No wonder, biblically, God frowned at and fought against Slavery when the people of Israel were enslaved in Egypt.

Similarly, slavery was abolished in the United Nations Charter, to end the misery and the acrimonious conditions resulting from it.   On the other side of the divide, lies freedom. Freedom is an unavoidable phenomenon which naturally interests any free-living organism in the universe.

In the universal declaration of Human Rights, everyone is given the liberty for self-determination. This equally mandates every individual to seek for freedom from any oppressive or intolerable conditions against them. The importance of freedom to every living thing and the all-encompassing law supporting it in the Universal Law for human rights has made it interesting and hence all human are eager to attain it in various forms because without freedom growth is impossible and life becomes meaningless.

In most civilized nations, self-determination is acknowledged as a crucial and fundamental right of the populace which has necessitated government’s effort at penning down concise ways through which the goal can be achieved.

For instance, recently, the British government and the British populace never considered the number of years they have spent in the European Union nor how much they have benefited from the union. But when the people asked for a break-away, their choices were respected by allowing the conduct of a referendum.

BIAFREXIT: Biafrexit?

Despite the fact that freedom is globally accepted as the right for every living thing, some countries like Nigeria find it difficult to respect such inalienable fundamental human rights. Several human rights organizations have investigated and reported on the numerous inhuman acts against people in Nigeria and innumerable cases of human rights violations.

The fight against anyone who raises to demand his rights and arbitrary arrest and detention and sometimes, extrajudicial killings are at its peak in Nigeria.   Mazi Nnamdi Kanu - a freedom fighter, who stands for the freedom of his people, was arrested in Nigeria since October of 2015, without any charges. He was detained and denied bail even when several courts have pronounced him innocent and granted him bail.

This is in a bid to silence him and to repel his efforts at seeking the freedom of Biafra and the Biafran people. More so, the army and other armed forces have continued to kill hundreds of innocent Biafrans, protesting peacefully against the tyranny of the current administration. Such reckless and reprehensible acts by the government of Nigeria against the people can only prove that the people are under intense slavery and must be rebuked and fought against by all people of goodwill around the world.

Since the right to freedom and self-determination is today of a global concern, it will be cruel to deny Biafrans such rights. It would be more honourable and important to allow the conduct of a referendum in Nigeria since Nigeria is an integration of completely different people with absolutely different ideologies, cultures, religion and languages who were unlawfully and forcefully amalgamated in 1914 by the wandering barbaric British Empire, who acknowledged that Biafra was a sovereign nation for thousands of years before the forceful amalgamation.

Biafrans have been tortured and killed enough for seeking and expressing their rights. They have also agitated enough and hence it is time for the world to pay a close attention to the plight of Biafrans, even as they have launched a new pro-Biafran campaign called Biafrexit in line with the just concluded Brexit.    #SupportBiafra #FreeNnamdiKanu #FreeBiafra.  #BIAFREXIT.
