Biafra Saboteurs Day: Nwodo, the prime saboteur to be remembered

September 4, 2018

“I can’t allow that to happen to my people again. That is why I will be a saboteur in any attempt to levy another war on Igboland. That is why Ohanaeze wants restructuring of Nigeria.”

Those were the words of John Nnia Nwodo in December 2017. He is the one they call the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, which is a body of integrity-challenged Biafrans, who have been sacrificing Igbo-Biafran interest for their selfish, pecuniary end. He made the statement a little after three months of Nigerian Army invading Biafraland in what they called Operation Python Dance11.

The so-called operation was nothing but a genocide action in which nothing less than 2000 unarmed and defenseless Biafran youths were murdered. It was during the operation that Nnamdi Kanu’s home was stormed and scores of Biafrans inside and outside the compound were killed in the most brutal manner. Kanu is the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and since that invasion, he and his parents have not been seen.

For this reason, Nwodo and the five governors of Abia, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, and Ebonyi states (who connived with the Fulani hegemony army to bring the mayhem to their land) became saboteurs. The governors are Okezie Ikpeazu, Willie Obiano, Rochas Okorocha, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Dave Umahi respectively. They all are among the saboteurs Biafrans will be remembering on Biafra Saboteurs Day’s Biafra-wide strike. It comes up on September 14, 2018.

Biafrans will discuss how organizing agents of the Nigerian government, in the name of traditional rulers, to collect bribe from the Nigerian government to look the other way as Biafran youths were being massacred amounted to keeping war away from Biafraland. Biafrans will want to know how holding non-violent processions calling for referendum amounted to levying war against their own people. The people will want to know how asking for appointments from the same government that committed genocide against your own people amounted to warding-off war from your land.
Then in the words of a certain Biafran from Enugu State “Let us true Biafrans first identify them, synthesize their actions, tell the world and our children the evils they have done, then we can then decide what to do with them”.

Uche Mefor, Deputy Leader of IPOB puts it most succinctly: “We want to prove that nobody or mortal can quench, suffocate or diminish the collective will and the aspirations of the Biafran people. We shall demonstrate that legitimate power belongs to the Indigenous People of Biafra in so far as Biafraland is concerned. We intend to press home the fact that genocidal orgy of violence, tyranny, Islamisation, terrorism and hatred by the Fulani military machinery against Biafrans can no longer continue without consequences. 14th of September 2018 will mark the beginning of what is to come.”
In addition, just as Nigeria has been certified as the country with the poorest people on earth, Mefor was not happy with it: “To have the most hardworking race on earth residing in a country with the largest number of poor people is a demonic curse, an unmitigated insult and a disservice to our God-given creative talent” for which Biafrans must extricate themselves from.
