Biafra: Declaration of IPOB As Terrorists; Using The Fire Brigade Approach Won't Solve The Problem

One Mazi Ndukwe called on a popular radio station in the metropolitan city of Enugu on Friday during their morning programme tagged "The Newspapers Review" to disagree with the headline which says that a Federal High Court had proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. He wondered how sudden the Court could give such a hasty pronouncement within the space of 24 hours of approaching the court with such a bogus application seeking to tag peaceful people as terrorists.

He noted that this was the same court that took years to deliver judgment on the bail application of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The same corrupt judicial system that it took months to hear Senator Bukola Saraki's forgery case, Olisa Metuh, the former Publicity Secretary of PDP, lasted months before he could be granted bail, what a hypocrisy he thought! He further noted with dismay, that Dasuki's arms deal case is yet to be wholly visited upon by this same judicial process which is so fast to pass its judgment on IPOB. Now, we wonder why Nigeria's judicial system shouldn't be labeled as being bias and corrupt?

The utter ignorance of labeling the entire people of the Biafran race as terrorists when there are clarion calls for herdsmen to be cracked down by majority of the entire Nigerian populace, it becomes obvious of the hidden plans of the Northerners to erase Biafrans from the surface of the earth. There had never been any form of criticism or condemnation from the government or the Northerners on the wanton killings of innocent lives, rapes and destruction of farmlands by herdsmen.

One of such acts is the Ozubulu terror attack and massacre which never solicited any strong condemnation from the government or the northern elites. It has been noted time and again, that killing, suppression, and intimidation are the primary tools and tactics of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Northern elites to suppress Biafrans and wipe them out from the surface of the earth. They are desperately trying to conquer Biafrans and then take the full control of their lands and natural resources.

That is exactly what they wanted to achieve, beginning with cutting down the only Iroko tree Nnamdi Kanu, who stood tall offering shades to all other trees growing on top of the mountain of the old Eastern region. The other giant trees which also grow up on the mountain and who are partners in crime (the South East and South South politicians) have always given leverage for the senseless and incessant killings, destruction and suppression of Biafrans in the failed state called Nigeria.

If labeling Biafrans as terrorists is the only way to keep the failed State together and the corrupt politicians from the Biafran region, remain in their political circulation then I can surely tell you that it is a failed attempt on the people of Biafra. The government's bad advisers and cabals must seek for counseling and tutorials from intellectuals on better ways of handling agitations and not by fire brigade approach.

Biafra have gained support and international attention without arm struggle and should not be pushed to the wall for arm struggle for their defense. The world have witnessed Biafrans' civilized peaceful demonstrations and the few less myopic politicians in Nigeria can admit the fact that Biafrans have been molested, killed, harassed and tortured yet they have remained resolute in their struggles without picking up arms. Even in the face of provocation, they have remained peaceful people and shouldn't be branded terrorists by half-baked certificate practitioners in the Nigerian judiciary who are putting the judicial system into mockery and ridicule.

If there is anybody to be termed as terrorists; it should be the Fulani herdsmen and the Nigerian military operatives who are both involved in carrying out extrajudicial killings of innocent citizens. They too are also the masterminds of terrorist activities in the northern region for their Islamization agenda in Nigeria.

Biafrans are peaceful people who want to regain their full independence from the Nigerian State after more than hundred years home of failed matrimony by the British colonial masters. We are IPOB, we are Biafrans and Christians, not terrorists.
