BIAFRA: WE MUST BOYCOTT THE ALREADY RIGGED ELECTORAL SYSTEM OF NIGERIA -IPOB AFFIRMS

By Eluwa Chidiebere || Biafra Writers

According to Merriam Webster's dictionary, election is the process or act of electing. It is also defined as the right, power of privilege of making choice. Prior to the system of democracy that started in the 17th century, this is achieved through majority decision-making process where a sizeable population of people choose an individual to rule over their affairs: their needs, wants, security, protection of their interests etc. When this is done, the individual chosen becomes a leader of the people.

A leader is one who is superior to his people and also capable of exercising on them a substantial degree of influence. In essence, the chosen leader has the mandate to shape the future of his/her people for a period of time in office.

In Nigeria, politics has lost its way and has become a platform for cultists, cold-hearted and selfish cabals who roam the political sector to amass wealth for themselves and their generations unborn. The Nigerian political sector we see today has metamorphosed into a hub of miscreants and villains. When villains assume the place of scholars in a society, then looting, killings, oppression, suppression and repression are crowned as kings.

Election in Nigeria is a risk. No doubt about it; the Nigerian government still sticks out as the major culprit in making promises that are never fulfilled. This is where promises are made without any intention to keep them.

Take for example, Willie Obiano, the seating governor of Anambra State: this governor, just like his colleagues in other states, promised heaven on earth during his campaign and swearing-in day. Some of his useless promises include: to build three ultra-modern power plants in Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi, to build a model 21st century capital city in Awka, to vie into oil prospecting in Anambra state and invite investors etc.

Today, none has been fulfilled. I cannot forget how his face was beaming with smile when making those empty promises. It is because of the likes of this black sheep (Willie Obiano) in the flock that made a popular Nigerian musician, Two-Face Idibia, come out with a hit song titled “E be Like Say" The lyrics of the music goes thus: E be like say they want to tell us another story (empty promises) again. It is time for all to rise and fight these monsters by boycotting the election of their already rigged system.

It is only a foolish man that does the same thing the same way and expects a different result. We have been voting to better our lives from time immemorial, but to no avail. Instead, our situations worsen through voting. The cause of our problems (Nigerian electioneering) will be confronting us again on November 18, 2017 in Anambra State. They are here again with their bag of tricks. For how long will they deceive us my people? For how much longer would we fall prey to their traps? Let us get our heads around the tricking nature of the Nigerian politicians. "An animal that was caught by a trap sees a bent stick and take to its heels." Voting is the usual trap and so we have to boycott the damnable Nigerian election. Do not say "let us give them another chance because it is only a fool that tests the depth of water with both feet. Devil will never repent and so are his followers.

Let us consider Genesis 25:29-34 in the Bible, where Esau sold his future for a pair of sandal. This verse will stand as a monumental yardstick to the “No Election” order given by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. For the sake of an immediate food (porridge), to fill his stomach, Esau sold his birthright. Esau’s foolish act is seen today when people are being chicken money to vote. When you say "let me collect just this one (money) and feed myself and my family", remember that is the immediate food Esau took that cost him his future.

While in darkness, God gave Biafrans light in the person of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the wheel of total revolution. He surfaced with good message. A message that can lift our burdens up from our shoulders if strictly followed -that is the 'no election order'. Advice is one thing that is freely given away and it costs nothing to ask for wise advice from a good friend. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has given it all for his people. Money is not everything and there is something more profitable than money -which is good advice. A good advice is sufficient to turn the heart of a sheepherder into the heart of a money lender. Let us harken to the voice of he, whom God has sent as prophesied many years ago by Nostradamus. Do not be among those jettisoning God’s project for if you do so, God will abandon you. May ChukwuOkikeAbiama bless us all, Iseee.
