BIAFRA: WHY IT IS REFERENDUM FOR IPOB AND NOT RESTRUCTURING OF NIGERIA

August 31, 2017

In response to the ongoing debate on restructuring Nigeria as being postulated in certain quarters vis-a-vis the demand by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for a United Nations organised and conducted referendum, making headlines on Newspapers, Radio and Television stations across Nigeria and the world, as well as on social media, unscrupulous elements are beginning to play some impersonation games by writing jargons and concocting all manner of lies against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the supreme leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with the motive to confuse the general public and attempt to instil doubt in the minds of millions of followers of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

To begin with, structure “is the arrangement of and relations between the parts or elements of something complex”. It also means to arrange, organize, design, shape and assemble”. Going by the dark history of the amalgamation of the geographical areas that formed the present day Nigeria by the Scottish soldier of fortune Frederick Lugard in January 1914, everyone can see that Britain intentionally and forcefully tampered with something very complex by nature, and amalgamated the indigenous peoples that owned the land against their will. The Royal Niger Company in the guise of intercontinental trade partnership with the indigenous people subtly started a war of colonial conquest against their indigenous hosts. Thus, Nigeria was structured to meet the exploitative aims of the colonial masters, who after Nigeria’s paper independence handed over the fraudulent structure to the Hausa-Fulani oligarchy to continue from where they stopped, encouraging and supporting them not to relinquish power to any of the other amalgamated units since this will be detrimental to their interest and will have adverse effect on their business objectives which is of paramount importance to them. This situation enormously strengthened the born-to-rule mentality of the Hausa-Fulani oligarchy. The issue of restructuring Nigeria as an entity is considered dead on arrival by the average Hausa-Fulani person, as it threatens their core existence as a people, because of their dependence on the resources from Biafraland for survival. It is this mind set and attitude that explains why the issue of restructuring was recently rejected by the House of Representatives and the House of Senate respectively, by the Hausa Fulani who are in the majority in both houses and cannot vote against the fraudulent structure that installed the loop-sided political system to their favour. It is laughable when you hear the ungrateful parasites make empty claims to be the bread basket of the contraption called Nigeria.

The word restructuring has only become an issue of public debate in Nigeria because there is something wrong with the structure itself. However, the term restructuring has become a contested context among different political groups in Nigeria, as some stakeholders make conflicting interpretations of the term to favour their own political interest. And that begs the question as to why are people talking about restructuring after 57 years of independence? Why have they all been held in captivity all these years? Who removed the gag from their mouth, and blindfold from their eyes? It is incontrovertible that the emergence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB has brought light not only to the people of Biafra, but to other nationalities trapped in the geographic space called Nigerians and a revolution is about to take place as a result.

The Indigenous People of Biafra led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu see referendum as the only viable solution to the political and economic disaster that beclouded Nigeria since the return of General Muhammed Buhari to the seat of power. Again, let us expound the actual meaning of the word referendum; “it is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is asked to vote on a particular proposal”. Unfortunately, the word referendum has also become a contested contest among several ethnic nationalities and political groups in Nigeria, as some see it as the call for war and secession while others see it as unconstitutional in a supposedly democratic government. However, this is not surprising because their confinement in the zoological republic of Nigeria has so much impacted on their ability to reason as reasonable and civilized people. When Mazi Nnamdi Kanu calls Nigeria a zoo, some people find it offensive while others are of the view that Nigeria is worse than a zoo and it’s better to call it a jungle or animal kingdom. But after a deep meditation on this matter every discerning mind can see through our line of thought that Nnamdi Kanu is right in calling Nigeria a zoo. Moreover, a zoo is defined as “an establishment which maintains a collective of wild animals, typically in a park or gardens, for study, conservation or display to the public”. The above definition has shown that wild animals are kept in a zoo or park against their will and away from their natural habitations, and they can escape at any slightest opportunity and never come back. On the contrary a domestic animal is a willing slave to the owner, which in most part moves freely and comes back voluntarily to the owner’s house.

In the above allegory of a zoo, it became crystal clear that Britain intentionally and forcefully amalgamated together over two hundred ethnic nationalities of different cultures, religion, value systems and languages, against their will and away from their natural habitations, in the guise to form a united country. But Nigeria was fraudulent from inception and therefore has failed to work, even after one century of trial and error. This has resulted in the incessant political and religious turmoil, terrorism, genocide, slavery and servitude that claimed the lives of millions of Biafrans and other ethnic groups that made up Nigeria since 1945. But as unscrupulous merchants, the colonial masters and their willing domestic slaves couldn’t care less than focus on their ulterior motives in the exploitation and pillaging of the natural resources in Biafraland, while the indigenous people are strategically kept in darkness and forcefully confined in the zoo against their will. But after many years of agonizing life in the zoo republic, the people continued crying and petitioning their God in prayer for his divine intervention. And he has now answered them by sending the man Nnamdi Kanu to rescue his people from perpetual bondage and lead them back to their ancient inheritance.

As someone on a divine mission, Nnamdi Kanu did not come with any army or ammunition but with a very simple weapon which is TRUTH. He began by pointing to the holy Bible, where the Saviour told his followers in the book of John 8 verse 32 that “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. And having preached the gospel of truth to his people in the zoo and in the Diaspora, some unprecedented signs began to appear in heaven as a confirmation of his heavenly calling, and suddenly, those in darkness began to see the light, the lame leaped for joy, shackles fell of the feet of those in bondage, hope was given to the hopeless, and for the first time in decades the (demonized) word BIAFRA is being preached from the lips of men, women and children. Newspapers cannot sell unless they carry the news about Biafra, the social media is now flooded with discussions on the issue of Biafra, both national and international radio and TV stations are daily carrying news about Biafra. The result of this heaven ordained message by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is that Biafrans are being recognized in over one hundred countries around the world.

The wild animals that have been in confinement in the zoo republic are rising in protest against injustice, exploitation, marginalization, dichotomy, subtle islamization, discrimination, acute corruption and state sponsored genocide against the indigenous people. The wind of revolution is blowing everywhere, and the domestic animal-slaves are running from pillar to post, because Nnamdi Kanu has handed over power to the people and the zoo government is in mortal panic. But there is nothing anybody can do to save the zoo from imminent wave of disintegration, because it is an evil enclave founded on lies and deceit. Therefore, the wild animals are on the loose and are demanding for the right to go back to their natural habitation, so that they may take their destinies back into their own hands. And the only peaceful way to resolve this issue is to allow every amalgamating ethnic nationality in Nigeria to conduct a referendum and decide on whether to remain in the zoo or go back to their natural habitation and determine their own political, economic, religion and cultural future by themselves.

At this juncture, we want to make it abundantly clear to all those clamouring for restructuring of Nigeria that they can go ahead and do so, but without the people of Biafra, because millions of Biafran lives have been wasted for the sake of Biafra freedom, and nobody can restructure those lives back into existence. Moreover, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not spend almost two years in illegal detention for Nigeria to be restructured. We reiterate that Biafra restoration is a project that is ordained in heaven and it can therefore not be negotiated, or stopped by any mortal. The IPOB families around the world led by our supreme leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are not wasting their precious time and resources for Nigeria to be restructured. All we need is total freedom attained through the avenue of a United Nations mandated and supervised referendum. But before then, we have vowed to continue in our civil disobedience in boycotting all subsequent political elections in the whole of Biafraland, beginning with the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election on the 18th of November 2017, because Nnamdi Kanu has permanently removed every trace of stupidity that beclouded the brain of our people and they have risen en masse to take what rightfully belongs to them, and that is freedom. No amount of killings, impersonation, harassment, bribery and imprisonment can stop us this time. It is either Biafra or death.
