BIAFRA: IPOB STORMS AWKA NORTH IN ANAMBRA STATE BIAFRALAND FOR EVANGELISM AND TO MOUNT A CAMPAIGN OF “NO ELECTION”

July 18, 2017

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra state, Biafra land on Sunday, the 16th of July, 2017 stormed Awka North Local Govt area in Anambra state on evangelism to propagate the message of the restoration of Biafra and to remind the good people of the various areas, of the unwavering decision of the Biafran people to boycott elections in Biafraland beginning with that of Anambra state which will come up in November 2017 unless the Nigerian government announces a date for referendum.

There were reports that politicians were fraudulently campaigning using Biafran and IPOB materials, including photos of Nnamdi Kanu (to give the impression of Kanu’s backing), to attempt to hoodwink and deceive gullible villagers to vote for them in the coming elections. Hence the counter-campaign of “no elections” by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) became necessary, in order to make it abundantly clear that there would not be any elections in Biafra land until they heed to the calls of the Biafran people which is to announce a date for referendum.

The trip was embarked upon by various IPOB units in Anambra state who converged at Amansea express junction, Enugwu-Onitsha expressway, in very high spirit, singing joyfully, chanting “no elections” and distributing fliers and other Biafran materials, including wrist bands, mini Biafran flags, various kinds of caps, bags, ID card holders and breast-tags bearing photos of Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the indigenous People of Biafra.

While at Amansea junction, Biafrans were all in high spirit singing and rejoicing, coordinators ensured there was smooth flow of traffic for passers-by and motorists while onlookers also joined in the jubilation and singing. When a many Biafrans had converged at the Amansea junction with several buses and private vehicles, the trip commenced. The campaign began from Amansea through Ebenebe and Ezu river bridge in Ebenebe, through Ugbenu and Nnam river bridge in Ugbenu, through the untarred road and large expanse of land at Ugbene area and finally to Awba Ofemili which was the final destination. While the journey was on, Biafrans distributed fliers on the way while singing and chanting “no elections” at passersby who waved their hands and nodded their heads in response to and in acceptance of the message of “no elections”. It was indeed a memorable event.

Arriving at Awba Ofemmili, there were briefings by the coordinators who also encouraged all Biafrans to remain well comported and afterwards, Biafrans sang and marched to the residence of the traditional ruler of Awba Ofemmili. At the residence of the traditional ruler, Biafrans respectfully and categorically informed the traditional ruler that they had come in peace to pass a simple message. The message was that there would not be an election because all they wanted is Biafra. It would be recalled that the Nigerian government had remained adamant to facilitate all the necessary processes needed for a referendum, but instead engages in gross human right abuses, incessant arrests, kidnappings and killings of innocent, peaceful Biafran agitators.

The traditional ruler of the area listened keenly to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who spoke through a few representatives. He subsequently agreed with them, that their demands are legitimate and welcomed, while encouraging them to remain peaceful and coordinated in their quest for self-determination. The traditional ruler also mentioned that many other traditional rulers across the state are having meetings concerning the Biafra agitations and that a communique will be issued soon with respect to the matter.

After the message and a few hours more of evangelizing to the community on the need to boycott the Anambra elections, Biafrans, in a well-coordinated manner, marched into their various vehicles and began to head back to the capital city of Awka for final briefings and dispersal. It was obvious that the message completely sunk into the consciousness of the people of the various communities visited. This is because, as Biafrans return from the trip, more crowds trooped out to the streets to greet and wave at the numerous vehicles conveying Biafrans. This time, the crowds were the ones singing and chanting the message of “no election”. The message is simple, the Biafran people have become fed-up with the failed Nigeria. The Biafran people cannot continue to endure the savagery of the fraudulent and fantastically corrupt Nigerian enclave. All the Biafran people want is, Biafra.

All hail Biafrans
All hail Biafra
