ENUGU— No fewer than 9 persons are suspected to have lost their precious lives in an auto crash which occurred along the busy Enugu/Nsukka Expressway by 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo Enugu state.
The accident which involved seven males and two females occurred on the 7th day of this month.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the incidence said the accident involved a Nissan bus with registration number NUJ 3 conveying the victims from Benue state and allegedly break failure while descending a hill close to 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo.
The bus was said to have hit a stationary vehicle in a nearby bush which left passengers in an unconscious state until they were rescued and rushed to “Benem Hospital and Our Refuge hospital” respectively both situated at 9th mile corner Ngwo where they are currently receiving and responding to treatment.

Sources revealed that the driver had earlier on complained about the faulty break before they left Benue state but was asked to manage it before the unfortunate incident.
Drivers and commuters are therefore warned to exercise extreme caution while embarking on transit especially during the festivities when many people travel to their respective native homes for the celebration.
