BIAFRA: RELEASING NNAMDI KANU IS THE KEY TO RESOLVING SOCIO-ECONOMIC CRISIS IN NIGERIA

BIAFRA:
RELEASING NNAMDI KANU IS THE KEY TO RESOLVING SOCIO-ECONOMIC CRISIS IN NIGERIA

24th September 2016

Prior the arrest of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB, director of radio Biafra and Biafra TV; Nnamdi Kanu (POC), Nigeria was enjoying relatively manageable economy. That time, Nigeria was rated as the largest economy in Africa and 26th largest economy in the world; notwithstanding the widespread corruption, poor governance, rampant oil theft, and Islamists Boko haram insurgency.

After the arrest and unlawful detention of Nnamdi Kanu, in October 2015, ugly things began to happen that led to this economic recession in Nigeria. every sphere of the Nigerian socio-political space; from human rights, respect for the rule of law, security, technology, health etc, has felt the negative impact of the cluelessness of Muhammadu Buhari and his dictatorship administration, which led to the unlawful detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu prisoner of conscience.

In Nigeria today people are dying of hunger, parents are exchanging their children for food, theft, and robbery is in on the increase, students are dropping out of school, people cannot afford the cost of medication anymore and as a result, death tolls is on the high increase. There are reports of an earthquake in the northern Nigeria .

People, especially the best brains in Nigeria are shutting down their businesses and fleeing in droves to neighboring countries for green pasture, not even greener pasture. It has been confirmed in the second quarter report of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that Nigeria is in its worst economic recession after 29 years, dating back to 1987 when the Nigeria had to take harsh steps to recover from this same Muhammadu Buhari’s policies of 1984-85.

The NBS also reported that Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by -2.06% within the second quarter of this year, confirming that the country was in big time recession that may last for over 5 years. Over 4,580,602 million people have already lost their jobs since May 29, 2015. Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) recently stated that 272 companies have shut down in the past 1 year.

I can unequivocally say that no amount on of money injected into Nigeria can heal its economy; the antidote is the release of Nnamdi Kanu, he is not an ordinary human and has committed no crime. He is only asking for the global right of the indigenous people of Biafra.

Nnamdi Kanu has tutored hundreds of millions of people around the world, through the institution of radio Biafra, and thereby delivered many from mental slavery. This is a fact that cannot be disputed. And that is more reason why he should be released now.

All these are happening because Nnamdi Kanu is being detained unlawfully. His extra-judicial detention sparked up all kinds of protest all over the world by the Indigenous people of Biafra, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom, including the blowing of oil pipelines by the Niger Delta Avengers. These protests will not stop until Nnamdi Kanu is released, and until he is released Nigeria will keep going down until it dies and turn to ashes and from its ashes the Nation of Biafra and other indigenous people caged in Nigeria will be freed.
