BIAFRA: ANOTHER SUSPICIOUS VISIT OF THE U.S MISSION DEPUTY, DAVID YOUNG TO BAYELSA RAISES EYEBROW AFTER JOHN KERRY'S VISIT TO THE SULTAN SOKOTO

BIAFRA:
ANOTHER SUSPICIOUS VISIT OF THE U.S MISSION DEPUTY, DAVID YOUNG TO BAYELSA RAISES EYEBROW AFTER JOHN KERRY'S VISIT TO THE SULTAN SOKOTO

Another U.S top government official is currently making news shortly after the evasive, suspicious visit of the U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry, to the northern Islamic Caliphate. A few days ago, a Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy, David J. Young visited Bayelsa Deputy Governor. His visit was the first time since the creation of Bayelsa State in October 1st, 1996, by Sani Abacha's military junta. The recent US Deputy Chief's visit to Bayelsa has sparked off intense suspicion following U.S warning that its citizens should avoid traveling to more than 20 listed states in Nigeria including Bayelsa state.

We wonder if what warranted the US government to issue such a stern warning has stopped and if the Deputy Chief is not contradicting his own country's intelligent report and warning? David Young was quoted during his visit to have advised Muhammadu Buhari to work towards improving lives of people in the Niger Delta, stating that the U.S was working with Nigeria to make Niger Delta region a better place. He was also quoted to have sent a message to "militants" in Niger Delta region to embrace dialogue as a way to achieving a lasting solution to the problem in the region, the statement said.

While we are in no way against Mr. David Young's visit to Bayelsa state, we, however, frowned seriously on the credited utterances of the U.S citizen who is expected to stand his ground and condemn Muhammadu Buhari's administration over his continued ill-treatment of the people of Biafra which Nigerian Delta is a part. Instead, he sided Buhari's government by weakly asking him to "improve lives of the people of Niger Delta". And we ask David Young, how? Mr. Young is believed to be a learned U.S citizen that has excelled in international relations which undoubtedly fetched him the current position as U.S Deputy Chief.

He obviously must have known the history of oil in Nigeria, discovered in commercial quantity in 1956, right in the very region we know today as Bayelsa state and the litany of untold woes it has brought the people and inhabitants of that region for six decades now...

What type of improvement is he asking Buhari that was a part of the successive governments, from December 31st - August 27th, 1985? What did he do then to improve the lives of the people in Niger Delta? What did those before and after him do? It is not an honour to a man like David Young to have stooped so low in supporting dire oppression in Niger Delta of Biafra. This, of course, could discredit and rubbish his reputation as a citizen of a civilized and most powerful nation.

The world has taken notice of the weak and beggarly response of Mr. Young over Nigeria's unceasing exploitation of Nigeria for sixty years now. Would David himself or any other U.S citizen tolerate such magnitude of injustices being perpetrated against the Biafrans of Niger Delta? He was further quoted as saying that successive governments made efforts to better the lives of the people in the region and called on all stakeholders to work towards achieving this.

Then, we ask...
Which of the successive government made efforts, and what were those efforts?
Are those efforts real or just stage-managed as is the custom in Nigeria?

Where in the Niger Delta can we find such successive governments' efforts?

Do those successive governments include Obasanjo's tenure characterized with the bombardment of Niger Delta strong men like Asari Dokubo who was incarcerated for months in Kuje maximum prison; and his total obliteration of Odi community that nobody queried him till date?

Do the successive governments he meant include that of Musa Yar'Adua who played on the intelligence of the Niger Delta youths and came up with the phoney "amnesty programme" that ended up creating more hunger and poverty in the region as the huge amount said to be for the programme ended up in the personal accounts of the individuals who were singing the song of peace and dialogue, just as they are currently doing? The region was grossly deceived into believing that a Fulani herdsman in power has the interest of the region he already tagged "arunah", meaning 'infidel,' at heart.

Does the 'successive governments' also include the present administration that bombed the Creeks of Nigeria Delta with the outlawed napalm bombs just a few days after assuming office in May, last year, and killed dozens of infants, women, and children in their insatiable lust for oil? Will Mr. Young claim ignorant of this facts as he barefacedly supports a gross, rogue government that even came into power through terrorism!?

It is quite appalling that a man who is seen as so civilized, and a representative of a perceived civilized country could be acting as if he came from 2000 years ago remote dark ages! We are not surprised that such could happen to the modern civilized man who understands every pain and agony of slavery. He has obviously dined and wined with the devil
