The Chief of Army Staff - Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Tuesday was quoted to have said that the Army will deploy full military action if the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and other militant groups in the Niger Delta rejects the federal government's call for dialogue. His statement immediately received strong condemnation from all quarters especially IPOB, who saw the army chief's statement as not only pompous, but irrelevant as well as a vicious lie.
The fact is that the reckless government of Nigeria has always been the one that ignored the legitimate demands of the agitators. General Buratai's call for war in the so called Niger Delta Region which has been the very golden goose that lays the golden eggs for the north, for over half a century, is a clear indication of the evil that the Nigerian government depicts.

So even their long gross neglect of the Niger Delta region, which has given birth to such a serious restiveness, is still not an issue that is worth consideration. That Nigerian leaders, both past and present have failed woefully in their duties, to address the chronic problems of neglect in the Niger Delta, is never of concern to Yusuf Brutai. All he dreams about is to fight the Niger Delta. He has so nursed the intense desire to fight against the Nigeria Delta that he had to voice it out in that manner.
I use this medium to call on the international community - the UN, EU, AU, Human Rights International and other respectable organizations that are concerned, to take adequate note of Gen. Buratai's statements, the Nigerian government’s recklessness and to hold him responsible for war crimes, should any war take place in the Niger Delta.

Nigerian Army Chief's statement, invariably amounts to a call to annihilate people who are simply fighting for their inalienable rights. It is said that, when injustice becomes a norm, then resistance becomes a duty. What the pompous army chief is unaware of, is why the people he is yearning to fight, has the same initial "NDA" as the Nigerian Defense Academy, NDA. He may be so carefree as not to bother about that, but that's where his failure begun.
He further compounded issues when he said that NDA should address their grievances democratically. One wonders if the army chief was drunk at the period of his statement. Has he suddenly realized this it is a democratic dispensation? Was he not aware of this, when he and his men slaughtered armless IPOB members? Was he not aware that it is a democratic dispensation, when he and his reckless government of Nigeria, were behaving like Pharaoh Remesis, arresting and landing everyone that challenged their evil ways into prison without bail or trial?

Is General Buratai suddenly realizing that "we are in a democracy"? It is rather too late for him. The fire they ignited would continue to rage until every stubble and other combustible materials are consumed and are out of the way. Enough of this military madness in Nigeria. These people should allow innocent civilians to have a free breath of air. Is Nigeria the only country in Africa? Why do Nigerian leaders like to enslave their subjects? Is it a crime for one to agitate for self-determination?
Why has Nigerian leaders neglected the UN charter, on the rights of Indigenous People, which other countries have duly respected? Does Nigeria's stiff opposition to the UN charter show they respect the same organization that they’re part of? These flaws do not bother Yusuf Buratai, rather his desire is to engage in a full war with the freedom fighters - NDA. What if, in his reckless desire to war with the freedom fighters, he incurs more irreparable damages? What if he and his men becomes decimated?

The world should hear our clarion call and recognize the Sovereign State of Biafra. That is justice, and that is the right thing to do. The government of Nigeria should be prevailed upon to release Nnamdi Kanu and to let Biafra go, for peace to reign. All Hail Biafra!
