THE IMPLICATIONS OF RUNNING AN ALREADY EXPIRED NIGERIA

Thursday 11th August, 2016.

Lots of things come into mind each time there is a discussion about the professional harlot of the West African coast. One of the things that people easily remember about Nigeria is her notoriety in crime even among the so-called security men, political impasse, gross corruption among the ruling class that have eaten deep into the fabrics of the entire society.

There is strong hatred among the ethnicities that make up what is known as Nigeria. What most people are not aware is that the ethnic hatred in Nigeria is so high and chronic that some state's legislators, like in the North and the Middle Belt regions for instance, have promulgated laws banning Igbo people of Biafra from owning any land or even structures in their areas. In other places, they have carefully denied them from operating some lucrative ventures such as pharmaceutical shops, and other direct trades that could fetch them gains.

Others like Kaduna State promulgated harsh religious laws against the Biafrans and other Christians in the state that are running private schools, denying them both Easter and other Christian holidays, with warnings that either they comply or close down! The Northern politicians have so far applauded their states' legislators for the job well done.

Mr. Harold Smith in his work emphasised that all these were instigated and condoned by the British who created those hatreds purposely to conquer the Biafrans. They manipulated elections and rigged census to keep the North regularly in power. The incidents of the 1956 for instance, where census figures were outrageously rigged to favour the North is enough evidence to show Britain supported Northerners against the Southerners in the same country they created us to be one. Where are the oneness in this behaviours and activities? Is it not only in words that we are one?

As if this evidence was not enough, Lugard came up with his silly mock war idea in which the British relinquished power to the North, from where they coined the oxymoron "born to rule." Nobody can actually tell what was in Lugard's mind at the time of the handover to the North. But investigation shows he probably did that hoping that Northerners would immediately embark on their Islamists agenda after their departure. The Tinubu square amalgamation document contains a clause that specified Nigeria would expire to be an entity in a hundred years. Period!

So, it is evident that Nigeria came to end since January 2014, during Goodluck Jonathan's administration. But instead of sitting on a round table do discuss if we will still continue as one, the politicians played a smart game on the people who have over the centuries been living as cats and mice.

Today, the mistake of 1914 amalgamation is hunting Nigeria. Since the politicians are only interested in money made through modern slavery, people have therefore taken their fate in their own hands to fight this man's inhumanity against man. It is no longer Uhuru and business as usual. The people so grossly neglected have decided to fight with the last drop of their blood and possibly die fighting for their freedom and God given resources that have been monopolized all this decades while the world watched without saying a word!

Buhari's administration has not seen the error in fighting people who seek self-determination, yet, he supported Palestinian freedom. Why can't he (Buhari) see the same reason he saw on those people and give freedom to Biafra? Or is it because it involves those he hated for years and wished death by all means?

To continue to run Nigeria as one against the will of the Biafrans is simply a dangerous game that can better be described as sitting on the keg of gun powder that would soon explode. The rogue politicians in Nigeria including those in power today are quite aware of the implication of forcing people who are not in any way, either culturally or religiously related, to be one. The disaster it will bring is an unprecedented one.

It is said that justice delayed is justice denied, and gone are the days people would fold their hands and watch the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity thrive in their evil machinations. The end has come and it is time to pay them back with what measure they meted against us.

May they continue to fall flat forever before us!
