REPUTABLE PERSONALITIES WILL LEAD BIAFRA WHEN IT IS RESTORED: A RESPONSE TO DADDY HEZEKIAH

Daddy Hezekiah, it is worthy to commend you for not mincing words in admonishing the present administration and the lost sons from Biafraland. However, praying for Buhari, is refuted because 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers”. The recent question “who will lead Biafra if we have it today?” on Authorityngr.com, of 3rd April, 2016, by Daddy Hezekiah of the Living Christ Mission (LCM) Inc., Onitsha, is quite embarrassing to the learned men who still uphold integrity in Biafra land.

Undoubtedly, the attitude of politicians of Biafra extraction, who have embraced practices alien to Biafran customs and traditions, by emulating corruption, lies and wickedness from their counterparts in Nigeria, have prompted this question. Nevertheless, we do not forget our core values as Biafrans, one of which is “Eziokwu bu Ndu” meaning “Truth is Life”, and that in ancient times, Biafrans who found themselves in positions of authority ensured the comfort of all and sundry. Today, it appears Biafrans are sheep without shepherds, because most Biafrans in positions of authority, have discarded the core, graceful values that made Biafrans a distinct people and which led our ancestors through thick and thin.

Your misconception perhaps, may not have taken your memory aback to the fact that Nigeria was built on corruption and that from the inception, it corrupts anyone who comes in contact with it, breeds notorious criminals as leaders who circumvent public outcry. You seem to be unaware that the person you recently requested the faithful to pray for as a leader, who in your imagination is “good”, but surrounded by evil people, has secretly financed and abetted terrorism, has publicly espoused terrorists and is still encouraging the most deadliest terrorists and the 4th most deadiest terror group – boko haram and Fulani herdsmen respectively, as acknowledged by the world.

If you could vouch for this sort of man, as being a good leader, then one wonders of the kind of message you give to your congregation. Before answering your question, let’s recap on some qualities of a good leader. A good leader should have the capability to invent, innovate and assemble his followers under an umbrella of one united family, honesty is his watchword, he is committed to his responsibilities, and he is inspiring. Knowing these, can we say that Buhari who in your view, is a good leader, fits into this category? The answer is obviously a “No!”

The president of Nigeria – Muhammadu Buhari, has never revivified invention or innovation in the younger generation. A perfect example is the school system; where creative ideas are meant to be inculcated into the youths, to enable them build a viable society, instead, there’s total failure and impunity in the entire system. During his campaign, the plan Buhari put forward for education was to feed school children, nearly a year in office, the budget for education has not been passed into law. Buhari never encouraged unity among Nigerians, rather; he treads the path of Ahmadu Bello who believes in conquering and subjugating others rather than building a just and equitable society.

Between 1983 and 1985, as a military junta head of state, Buhari marginalised the eastern part of Nigeria in his developmental strides and political appointments and as a president in this administration, he has made it even worse. As Daddy Hezekiah appositely observed, those involved in the Nigerian polity and politics are the worst people to reckon with, they steal, lie and eliminate perceived political rivalries, hence it’s out of place to refute that Buhari is surrounded by evil people. As long as the president appointed those in his cabinet, they are all birds of a feather. Buhari’s embezzlement of public fund as the Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund is evidence to this.

Buhari is not committed to serving humanity neither is he committed to fulfilling his campaign promises. He promised the masses during his electioneering campaign, that the Chibok girls allegedly kidnapped by Boko Haram would be released, that there would be massive employment for the youths and that unemployed youths would be paid a stipend of 5,000 Naira. He also promised that Ogoni land and environs would be cleaned up, that Boko Haram would be defeated in two weeks and that he would ensure that the exchange rate of the Naira equates that of the Dollar. A committed leader will live up to these promises, but today, these promises have been out rightly denied. Instead of serving the interest of the people who voted him into power, he gallivants from one country to another, portraying them as criminals in order to divert attentions away from his atrocities and to conceal his criminalities.

So far, inspiration in a totally negative sense, is what Buhari - the "good leader” possesses. He inspired the decimation of Biafrans who work within the ambits of the law to actualize their freedom and self-determination. A “good man” as perceived by Daddy Hezekiah, instead of calling his security agencies to order, boasted that Biafrans who are peacefully demanding their inalienable rights to self-determination, will not be tolerated in their fatherland. How do you categorize such a man? He must be a savage, who hails from the deepest circle of hell.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, ably led by Nnamdi Kanu, have been tested and proven right and have continued to display qualities attributable to good leaders and followers. The principle of “whiter than white and whiter than snow” is enshrined into the Indigenous People of Biafra - IPOB’s quest for freedom and self-determination. Superior inventive and innovative intellect, is seen through the survival of Radio Biafra and other platforms owned by these highly gifted people, amidst the continued government-sponsored onslaught. The Nigerian government has spent millions of dollars fighting these media platforms; from jamming to blocking and then to neutralizing, but with nothing, these media outlets have continued to, disseminate the truth, expose the atrocities inherent in the Nigerian system and have also continued to be the catalyst for the imminent restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra.

Radio Biafra through the gospel of truth, has uprooted the seed of discord maliciously sown among the clans of Biafra by a common enemy. Biafrans worldwide, under the banner of IPOB, have set a pace for African Nations in terms of honesty, steadfastness and resoluteness. Despite the infinitesimal contributions towards the restoration of Biafra, a lot has been achieved as no one sees the embezzlement of public fund as a virtue, unlike in the Nigerian system. The leadership of IPOB has continued to live up to its creed towards the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra.

Nnamdi Kanu and his team have shown great commitments; despite the fact that Kanu is under severe torture, and that there have been attempts to lure him with materials in order to make him give up the Biafran quest, he has remained steadfast to the cause - Biafra restoration. His team has never disappointed even in his absence, they are humanitarians, IPOB has never abandoned the injured nor neglected the families of the deceased.

IPOB officials have inspired and coordinated millions of displeased Biafrans and youths, denied of their rights, to stand up to the challenges of life, to reject the atrocious Nigerian system and to take the bull by the horn. Today, youths who before coming in contact with Radio Biafra, sell their conscience and votes, have learnt the noble importance of upholding one’s integrity and dignity. From the foregoing, Daddy Hezekiah, there is no doubt we have capable, creditable and accountable leaders with integrity for when Biafra comes.
