ATEKE TOM'S STATEMENTS IS ILL-CONCEIVED

Ateke Tom The Ex Niger Millitant
The statements credited to Ateke Tom, the ex-militant leader of the defunct Niger Delta Vigilante (NDV) in an interview where he was quoted to have said that: "We don't want problem in Rivers State" when asked about his views on the current Pro-Biafra agitation is delusional and baseless. We all are aware that Rivers State is part and parcel of the defunct Biafran Republic in late 1960s when Biafra was first carved out from Nigeria.

Following his statement that there have been an unrest in Rivers State, due to some people breaking cars, destroying things, killing people and looting their properties, are surely not the trademarks or modus operandi of Pro-Biafra agitators under the banner of IPOB who has been widely and internationally known for their peaceful and non-violent disposition in their pursuit for freedom and independence. Thus if there are social disturbances, killing of people and pilfering of their properties in Rivers State, it could be the handiwork of violent cult groups in the state, with the backing of the Nigerian givernment, which has determined to hijack any peaceful demonstration to perpetrate evil, with the sole aim of tagging us terrorists.

Biafrans are wise enough not to abandon their primary aim to unleash mayhem on their fellow citizens or destroy their properties for that matter as they stand to gain nothing from it.
Unlike other ethnic groups like the Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram terrorist group whom has chosen the path of violence, it has never for once been recorded or reported that Pro-Biafra agitators had killed their fellow citizens, rather the opposite has been the case with the Nigerian government against Pro-Biafra protesters.

We understand that the reason why Ateke would want to exonerate Rivers State and himself out from the agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra is because of the security of oil pipeline contract, which he aspire to gain from the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari led government.
Whereas other hitherto Niger Delta Militant groups and leaders like late Adaka Boro, Asari Dokubo who has abundantly made it clear with evidence that Niger Deltans are more Biafran than the Igbos, have realized their origin as Biafrans

Ateke is singing a discordant tune because of material wealth he hope to gain from Buhari.
And then we ask which is more better and important to you and our people, a momentarily and short-lived acquisition of mundane wealth or a complete and long-aged period of freedom and independence?
Is life so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?.
What is money or contract compared to an everlasting freedom? A rich and controlled man is no less a slave and that is why Biafrans have solemnly resolved to regain their independence or die trying to get it with or without the support of all true Biafrans.

Have you(Ateke) ever wondered why Buhari would advocate and declare total support for the agitation of independence of the Palestinian and Western Sahara States and back home in the country turn to a dictator and monster, massacring peaceful and innocent Biafra agitators? Does that not amount to a high level of hypocrisy?. Biafrans are ever determined in restoring their nationhood and no amount of discordant tunes or high level instigation will prevent them from reaching their goals.
