May 30, 2015 – the day Biafrans all over the world celebrated their fallen heroes and paid homage to their memories – has come and gone. But one observable truth from the conduct of Biafrans all over the world on that day was their resolve – by words and actions – to be free from the abominable contraption called Nigeria.
From Aba in Biafraland; United Kingdom (UK); United States of America; Spain; Canada; France; and Israel, this resolve was evident. Also in Malaysia; Germany; South Africa; Japan; Australia; Italy; and several other countries across the world, the demand for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra resounded.
This is why this special edition of The Biafra Times is made to highlight some of the special features of the day across the world (with photographs and illustrations).
Nigerian Police
Most worthy of note in what took place in Aba, Abia State capital, was the fact that Nigeria Police personnel conducted themselves well, in a civilised manner. They found comportment and courteousness to explain to the overwhelming crowd that they were sent, not to be confrontational to the people, but to make sure that no external body came to derail what they weredoing.
The Biafra Times hereby commends the Nigerian Police for their conduct on the day, and hopes that it would continue to conduct itself in a self-same manner in future. This is necessary to see that it does not provoke the Biafran peoples into violent agitation.
A people oriented publication:
The Biafra Times is a people oriented publication set up by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to x-ray and highlight the developments and challenges facing Biafra peoples all over the world. Our philosophy and goal is to cover all strata of the society – from the rural communities (villages) to the urban communities, as well as the international community.
For this reason, the Management of The Biafra Times requests the participation of all Biafrans in contributing well-written stories, articles, critiques, expose, etc., for publication.
Cover price: Initially, the intention of the Management of The Biafra Times was to give copies of the publication free of charge to Biafran peoples all over Biafraland and beyond. But with the quantum of responsibilities on the shoulders of IPOB, we realised what a tough task it has been.
The Biafra Times Management has therefore decided to charge a token of N200 to help in bringing down the cost of production.
