In Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Nigerian Government and Her Enablers Meets Their Mate
In the annals of freedom fighting in the British contraption, the Nigerian government has always had the upper hand. This is uniquely because they always play all the venomous cards in the colonial bag hung round their necks. It will be almost impossible for anyone walking the freedom terrain to achieve victory because of a plethora of conditions rooted in external interest watered by the United States of America through their proxy — the United Kingdom.
The UK has a way of bending people’s wills; anybody’s will. Interestingly, when it comes down to making Africans fall in line, the most potent elixir has always been the scrambling use of brutal local assistants. In case you have forgotten, as the superior firing power of den guns forced the Ekumeku warriors to withdraw into the shadows and retreat, the UK activated warrant chiefs. They quickly realized that Biafrans are originally egalitarian, republican, positively cocky and loathsome to oppression. Therefore, a direct interaction even if it will achieve the needed result would still be time consuming and energy sapping. A local renegade was practically inexcusable —the warrant chiefs.
The present day warrant chiefs can come in different ways, forms and means. They can be as a double agent lawyer, a CIA asset traditional ruler, a military officer or an economist trained in US or UK think-tank. A SANship or PhD-promised legal defense team member. It is the most lethal strategy used to liquidate every potential opposition to neocolonialism. Whether it was the Eastern region government of Michael Iheonukara Okpara or Ken Sarowiwa or Asari Dokubo, or Student Union government or #EndSars protest or Ralph Uwazurike, etc., the UK always found someone that would say something or do something to emotionally blackmail or outrightly convince the behind the bars leader that walking away is the righteous thing to do.
The emergence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the game changer. Nobody has held the abusers of the indigenous people of the British contraption to accountability, But Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is on the verge of collapsing the British business center called Nigeria. This is because he did something smartly in a way others before him did not have the mental acuity and genuity to implement. As a genius, he studied and figured that the Achilles heel of those that attempted before him was the creation of a central authority weaved around a personality and the tendency for family, friends and well wishers to influence organizational structure.
When Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said, “… this IPOB has a mind of her own, …”, not many people understood what he meant. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu knew that a day like this would come when the UK would scramble their foot soldiers, especially those that look and dress like him, and when they do, he would bank on an independently minded IPOB to navigate and overcome. That is why he made sure that the DOS is a decentralized body of free thinkers.
So, the enablers of Nigerian government have met their mate in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They know that for as long as the DOS is not tarnished, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must walk free. This unsettles them.
