The Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, under the supreme leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, vehemently rejects the proposal of a masked witness against Nnamdi Kanu, as pleaded by the prosecuting counsel on the previous court sitting dated 1 December 2016.
Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention since 14 October 2016 (against court orders that have ruled for his release on 19 October 2015 at the Magistrate Court and 17 December 2015 at the Federal High Court Abuja), was accused 'solely of treasonable felony' and management of unlawful society (IPOB). Despite torture of journalists and attempts to convert Kanu's case to a secret trial, IPOB has ensured that the proceedings remained open to Biafrans, Nigerians, and the rest of the world.

In Nigerian government's efforts to shield the truth, conduct a secret trial and pervert justice, the Department of States Security Services, DSSS, has renewed her calls for masked witnesses; an appeal that was first filed before 'Injustice' John Tsoho, who declined the request without much hesitation.
Tsoho's reversal of this ruling has received condemnations from the National Judicial Council (NJC), it has also stained his ill-glorified reputation, and is awaiting NJC's probe to ascertain his place in the judiciary.
This is a case of the earth crying that a house on top of it is too heavy for it - Nnamdi Kanu, his defence team, supporters and all Indigenous Biafrans should be appealing for protection from British-aided-Nigerian-forces and not the other way round. Nigeria has every resources needed to ensure safety of their witness if there is need for that; but it is clear that Nigeria is not intending to conduct Kanu's trial. There is nothing against Nnamdi Kanu, hence the Nigerian government is buying all the time needed to keep him incarcerated.

13 December 2016 has been scheduled for ruling on this. According to Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel to the accused, Nnamdi Kanu, he stated, "my client was accused openly, therefore we want to see those imported witnesses hired wishing to testify against my client eye_ ball_to_eye_ball not masquerades." We need see their expressions, we need to see how convinced they are about their testimony.
On this regard, IPOB sends strong message to Nigeria and the world at large -that their leader's freedom can never sacrificed on the altar of Nigeria's injustice. Nnamdi Kanu was accused in the open, and for the sake of fairness, oneness, equity and justice, every process in his case must remain open. Law is supreme and must prevail!
