‘’We are no longer there, there is no more MEND, anybody telling you that MEND is in existence or that it is still alive, is deceiving you.’’ Gen. Ezekiel Akpasubowei , Ex-MEND Leader (October 2010).

The above quote has been the belief of many in recent past years. Hence, many people were startled to realize the sudden resurrection of the Movement for the Enslavement of Niger Delta (MEND).

MEND, a group that had long lost her track –their acquisitive leaders had been silenced with naira and kobo while the congenital terrorists amongst them have been incarcerated. They were disassembled by Nigeria and their dreams died with them. They forgot about the masses they advocated for, the land that was polluted, the sea that had gone lifeless and the devastated communities.

According to Saturday Vanguard, October 23 2010, ‘’ex-militant leaders, including Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo; Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari; Former MEND Commander, Eastern division, Farah Dagogo; Victor Ben Ebikabowei, alias ‘’General’’ Boyloaf; and others visited Abuja after the October 1 blast and declared that MEND WAS NO LONGER IN EXISTENCE.’’

At this point, Nigeria believed it has successfully defeated any adversary that poses to be an obstacle to her continual rape of the old eastern region. Except for some court cases, this was the last time MEND was ever taken serious.

But to the bewilderment of both Nigerians and Biafrans, MEND started making headlines again. This time, not for kidnapping expatriates, not for squandering allocations remitted for a community nor for masterminding a bomb blast –she suddenly appeared as Nigeria’s trusted associate, the spin doctor of an already despondent nation and the mouthpiece of the masses she had already betrayed.

MEND has become the latest device in Nigeria’s attempt to thwart Biafra restoration –but the mission has proven to be bootless. Charles Okah’s attempt to malign Nnamdi Kanu and his loyalty to Biafra restoration is already an outdated trick to deceive Biafrans who can no longer be distracted by some baseless an unfounded stories.

MEND with characters like Charles Okah and Henry Okah, has lost every integrity and reputation; and can never be taken serious by any sane individual. MEND is lost in history; she failed herself and failed her people.

Nigeria is only compounding her woes by the use of fake Igbo leaders, fake Ijaw representatives, pseudo Avengers, Rochas Movement, Ohaneze secret cult and a very fake priest orchestrated by their paid media outlets to frustrate this very insistent agitation for Biafra freedom.

Attempts to defame Nnamdi Kanu by any means have proved abortive, efforts to intimidate him with incarceration is vain and persuasions to bribe him with oil wells and political positions are all futile. He has remained focused, courageous and determined. He has not shifted grounds and is not ready to sacrifice anything on earth for Biafra –not even his freedom.

As the use of MEND is about to end, we will not be surprised if Nigeria resurrects Azikiwe’s NCNC all in her bid to impede Biafra restoration.

Nigeria should understand that this struggle is not about a man, it’s not about a group of people, it’s not about the war, it’s not about a generation …Biafra is an idea, it is a belief, it is an identity, it is a way of life and no one can take it away from Biafrans.
