80 die in Onitsha tanker fire

Reports reaching The Biafra Times desk showed that a petrol tanker have plunged into Asaba Park at Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State, killing nothing less than 80 people, and burning down about 16 buses.

The driver of the tanker, an Hausa man, was reported to still be alive but disappeared while the attention of the people was focused on caring for the wounded.  Many people at the scene of the incident, who spoke to The Biafra Times, expressed suspicion that the incident might have been a terrorist act.
Governor of the State, Willie Obiano, came to the scene briefly and left.
