DR ARTHUR NWANKWO CONDEMNS VANGUARD; CALLS HER CLAIMS "SCANDALOUS" AND "UNACCEPTABLE".

• "The game is: Nigeria through the help of her paid and unprofessional media outlets, like the Vanguard and Sun newspapers [italics ours], wants to create an imaginary group of IPOB, ascertain the response they will get from IPOB, Nigerians, and the international communities. If they become successful in deceiving the masses, they will unveil some group of men as their leaders/members to further frustrate the efforts of IPOB; if not, they will adopt a different method.’’ -Barrister Chidinma Olisa (September 1, 2016).
After so many distorted and unfounded stories peddled by the Vanguard Newspaper against the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) which is targeted at misleading the public; Dr. Arthur Agwuncha Nwankwo has condemned Vanguard for associating him with such a non-existing group (RE-IPOB) created by the Nigerian media, (Vanguard and Sun newspapers) and termed the act "scandalous", "ridiculous" and "totally unacceptable".

In Dr. Nwankwo’s remarks, "The statement credited to an amorphous (of no form) breakaway group from the IPOB called RE-IPOB, gave the impression that I am in league with it. "I consider the association of my name to this type of group absolutely scandalous, ridiculous and totally unacceptable.
"The Igbo nation has not mandated any person or group to negotiate for it. I therefore, dissociate myself completely from RE-IPOB and demand the retraction of my name to avoid unpleasant consequences’’, Dr. Nwankwo concluded.
Recall that Vanguard Newspapers and other Nigerian paid media outlets had earlier created an imaginary IPOB splinter group to deceive the general public. These claims are baseless and are without facts; yet the Nigerian media on daily basis publish stories about these invisible groups to keep the masses distracted from the major demands of IPOB and the Niger Delta Avengers –which are: the immediate and unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB and the freedom of Biafra from Nigeria.

IPOB hereby urges Biafrans, Nigerians and the world at large to disregard and ignore these persistent lies peddled by Vanguard. Anyone or group that is keen to ascertain these claims should embark on investigative journalism: get the real names of the leaders/members of this imaginary TRIPOB and REIPOB; their role in IPOB before leaving and other probing questions.
You will come to a conclusion that Vanguard is not only unethical but an utter disgrace to anything journalism represents.
