PRESS RELEASE: IPOB REJECTS THE PRODIGAL MEND AND THE CHARADE NEGOTIATION WITH GOVT:

PRESS RELEASE:
IPOB REJECTS THE PRODIGAL MEND AND THE CHARADE NEGOTIATION WITH GOVT:

18th August 2016

In the recent past, the Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed publicly exclaimed that “Nigeria is not a Nation, but a conglomerate of nationalities..." He further asserted that “Nigeria was a 1914 British selfish-motivated formation.

This British amalgamation fraud by design as provided by its creator at the point of creation was only to last for 100 years. Therefore, the creation Nigeria ended or ceased to be on January 1, 2014. As a result, ‘Nigeria’ as it stands, is dead contractually and legally speaking or can best be described as an illegal entity.”
He concluded.

Indeed, these symptomatic indices alluding to the much-undiluted truth about that contraption called Nigeria abound. It then behoves on every sensible and sensitive person to appreciate the hard fact that it is no longer “One Nigeria” business as it used to be as things are no longer at ease. These indicators
and developments speak volume and surely, call for a different approach in a different time.

Since the enclave is now in a different mood and the signs are ominous that the real change (not like the APC blue Change of the more you look, the less you see) is eminently taking place. It is only a prodigal entity as represented by The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) in this case that will throw caution to the wind, may be for a paltry sum of an amount.

However, for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), it is better to be alone than in the wrong company. The old maxim says it all “He that lies down with dogs, shall rise with fleas.” MEND has openly shown their penchant for the quid-pro-quo type of charade negotiation with the APC-led Buhari government. Without any sign of moral fortitude on the part of MEND either in the past or the immediacy, they have gone about their unholy money-making business like Saint Dane of the merchant of death.

Rather than MEND to take the time to step back, take stock and reflect deeply or introspect on past negotiations of similar nature to learn lessons, they have decided to yield hook, line, and sinker to this make-believe trade-by-barter aimed at strangulating already impoverished Biafrans which Buhari Government have visibly demonstrated consistently.

Moreover, the deceptive Buhari Government are not in any way willing to honestly negotiate or give up any of their crushing positions partly due to their Islamic agenda and of course, their intent to subdue Biafrans perpetually. By extension, MEND plays in this post as an estoppels agent of the Islamic Nigeria.

ON MEND: WORKING PAPER Understanding the Armed Groups of the Niger Delta

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide under the leadership of the able and amiable Director Radio Biafra and Television, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has consistently expressed in the open and very unambiguously our vision and mission which is Biafra restoration. He did that so pointedly and passionately that even a deaf and blind person can easily articulate our position over Biafra freedom and restoration of our dignity as a people.

Biafra sovereignty remains clearly a perfect divine project with the Director Nnamdi Kanu as the anointed man overseeing both the leadership and management of IPOB - a worldwide phenomenon struggle and first of its kind for that matter. Comparatively speaking, IPOB has a global presence and enjoys the legal recognition of many civilised and developed countries of the world very much unlike MEND.

This only means that IPOB differs fundamentally and ideologically from MEND and what they represent. In fact, MEND’s debut bore the marks of the Niger Delta politicians that originally created the gangs - by arming young men they used as their private armies and to rig elections which eventually gave rise to
MEND.

Shockingly, MEND in not too distance time acknowledged and confirmed this position publicly through a National newspaper – The Premium Times of May 22, 2016. Their masked spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo issued the press statement that projected their averred position and thus entitled: “MEND Breaks Silence Tackles Niger Delta Avengers.”

MEND emphatically stated that they do not subscribe to our undiluted pursuit of freedom for Biafrans. MEND as well condemned our key ally in this struggle the Niger Delta Avengers. Accordingly, they assertively avowed in their words that: “The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) wishes to condemn and dissociate itself from the recent activities carried out by a group known as the ‘Niger Delta Avengers.” MEND, added that “Their (NDA) sudden
emergence has absolutely nothing to do with the Niger Delta struggle but rather a tool by individual elements to destabilise the current government,”

Deductively, MEND should not have arrogated themselves to any position of negotiator or arbiter since they have proven themselves as never neutral but overtly in support of the Islamic government of the day. Obviously, the critical philosophical difference and parallel vision and mission should have been enough to disqualify them from ever making any claim that they are
negotiating with anyone on our behalf.

While we fight for every Biafrans, MEND as prodigal as their utterances have showcased what they represent and do; we reject everything about MEND. It is beyond any reasonable imagination that MEND unmistakably shot themselves in the foot when they issued that statement that: “the Niger Delta region shall not be part of a secessionist Biafran State.”

“Rather, MEND believes in one strong united Nigerian federation where the principles and ideals of Resource Control; True Federalism; Rule of Law/Respect for Human Rights; Democracy; Free Enterprise and a Vibrant Civil Society are well entrenched in the ground norm and put to practice.”

No doubt, MEND’s statements betrayed their sick mind as people who live in cloud-cuckoo-land. Consequently, it is a smack of absurdity for MEND to turn around to play “Father Christmas” for the IPOB and the NDA. Not only that, in their bid to drag IPOB in the mud, they levelled an empty allegation against our man of honour and integrity Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who had made it abundantly clears at different occasion on Radio Biafra that the case of Biafra restoration is
indeed, absolute and not negotiable. It is Biafra or death.

Mind you; Radio Biafra is monitored worldwide by teaming Colt following of divergent persuasions.  It is indictable on MEND as their press propaganda, and political shenanigan cannot hold any water. It is equally now clear before all and sundry that MEND is out to make juicy deals that eventually will account for their complete extermination and extinction just as others that came before them but compromised their stands in the past by joining their enemies were duly paid back in their coin of deceit when it is time.

The Indigenous People of Biafra under the visionary leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with its administrative office and Embassy in Vitoria, Spain, wishes to inform the general public to discountenance any and every overture coming from MEND with regards to IPOB, NDA or Biafra restoration struggle in general.

We neither contracted nor consented to MEND, its proxy and their charade negotiation with the APC-led Buhari government. IPOB is not in the business of resource control or any monetary settlement or bargain. We are well-focused, and our drive is the uncompromised pursuit and preservation of our ‘Biafraness’ through our final destination - undiluted restoration of the sovereign Biafra Nation which is in our interest and for the benefits of the unborn generation.

We firmly demand the unconditional release of our Director and Leader of IPOB worldwide, Nnamdi Kanu. It is Biafra or Death! It is all about freedom, liberty, democracy and self-determination. As enthused by Carrie Jones, “The secret of happiness is freedom; the secret of freedom is courage.” Therefore, a luta continua.

Head, Directorate of State
Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Embassy, Vitoria, Spain.
