TO BE ON THE WATCH DOES NOT MEAN ASKING UK GOVT TO BEG BUHARI

BIAFRA:
TO BE ON THE WATCH DOES NOT MEAN ASKING UK GOVT TO BEG BUHARI

MUHAMMADU BUHARI

The twisted meaning given to the petition sent to the UK government by the defence counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the result of the unethical practice of journalism in Nigeria. I always tried to stitch together the rationale behind changing of every story on Biafra and Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian media outfits, by giving it another meaning to please those who want Kanu dead for speaking the truth and exercising his fundamental human rights. These people have murdered professionalism on the altar of nepotism, mediocrity, and inducements.

How can these so-called professional journalists cowardly surrender their years of struggle and hard work, spent to acquire knowledge to Mr. Buhari, an uneducated subsistence cattle herder? This nonsensical, unethical practice of journalism in the zoo called Nigeria must be condemned by all mentally sound individuals and organizations alike as it is totally disgraceful. As much as we acknowledge that the entire sectors of Nigeria are shattered, we expect journalists to uphold the traditional tenets of being the mouthpiece for the voiceless. Sadly, this is not the case in Nigeria.

They have fallen short of the expectation as always. The petition sent to UK government by defence counsel to Nnamdi Kanu was twisted by these deceitful media organizations. They simply gave it another headline that read “Kanu petitions UK government to beg Buhari to release him’’. That changes the whole meaning of the petition to anyone who would not bother reading the whole content of the document. There is no line of a paragraph that indicates that Mazi Kanu or his counsel is begging to be freed rather the petition said they formally bring to the attention of the British Government, the deliberate design by the Nigerian Government to subvert the course of justice in the above criminal trial.

The subversion of justice by Nigeria government using frustration designed by the persecutors to handicap every effort of the defence team aimed at giving their client a fair trial is what the petition is all about and not asking UK government to beg Buhari as being published by these dishonourable media houses.

That petition was made available to the public. It was also published on (www.Biafraherald.co), (www.Biafratimes.co), (www.Thebiafratelegraph.co), (www.Radiobiafra.co) and so many social media sites, copies were even sent to some Nigerian media houses, but still, they twisted the story and gave it another meaning. What a shame on the side of Nigeria, that none of her organizations can be trusted. Who in the world will take that kind of people or country serious? No wonder no Nigerian media has ever won an international award.

On a second thought, I deduce they are preparing the mind of the people to receive a comforting story when Mazi Kanu eventually wins the case. They will tell gullible Nigerians that Buhari has become merciful and hence, has decided to grant Nnamdi Kanu pardon maybe after being petitioned by the British. We do not want anyone to glorify Buhari or anyone when the almighty vindicates the righteous man and that is the reason I’m countering this deception.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will never beg anyone for forgiveness because he did not commit any crime. How can someone apologize when he/she has not done wrong?  Buhari is the person who should tender an apology for infringing on rights and torturing an innocent man.

However Nigerian media chooses to twist stories about Kanu and Biafra, it will not stop Biafra from standing as a free and sovereign nation. Kanu emphasized, that it is either the Biafran Flag is raised as that of a free and sovereign nation or he will be lowered in his grave. That’s the courage of a determined man.

My question to one Nigerianists is, are you ready to die for your Nigeria?
